Sixty years ago, the Selma Voting Rights March began. On Bloody Sunday Alabama Troopers brutally assaulted peaceful marchers. Martin Luther King rallied religious leaders from around the country to come. My Dad joined the marchers in Selma on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report was published before they had word that one of their fellow clergy marchers, Rev. James Reeb, was assaulted in Selma that evening, and died two days later, helping spark passage of the Voting Rights Act. kinginstitute.stanford.edu\/reeb-james<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ten years ago, on the 50th Anniversary of the Selma march, I joined my dad, who was speaking at a local college commemorating the march. Powerful memories, especially at this time, with his recent passing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
